Taffi Nyawanza
LLBS (Hons), LLM (Warwick)

Taffi is a Director and the Principal of Genesis Law Associates Solicitors Ltd. He has over 10 years of direct legal experience (3 years in general private practice, and 6 years practicing and specializing in Immigration and Asylum law in the UK).

He is well known for being results-oriented.

Taffi's career includes a spell with the Refugee Legal Centre (now Refugee and Migrant Justice) where he was a Senior Immigration Caseworker, specialising in asylum and detention work. He also worked for the Immigration Advisory Service as an Appeals Caseworker.

Until recently, he was a solicitor at Bake & Co Solicitors where he also supervised and managed a team of solicitors and immigration caseworkers, apart from handling his own case-load.

Taffi is experienced in all aspects of immigration and asylum law. His wide-ranging caseload includes entry clearance applications and appeals, nationality and asylum applications and applications for further leave to remain in the UK, including under the new Points Based System.

Taffi is in demand as a speaker on latest developments in UK immigration and asylum law at community events and fora.

In his spare time, Taffi likes to cycle and to sing - badly - at his church.

Clement Kulang (CK)
LLBS (Hons), LLM (Staffs)

CK is one of our senior legal advisors at Genesis Law Associates Solicitors Ltd. He has over 13 years of direct legal experience (6 years as a member of the justice system in the Republic of the Sudan and 7 years practicing and specializing in Immigration and Asylum law in the UK).

As a student, CK was a high achiever and was awarded a number of awards including:

  • The Law School Public Law Prize/ Staffordshire University;
  • LL.M. Scholarship at Staffordshire University jointly funded by the World University Service (UK), Hugh Pilkington Trust, and Staffordshire University School of Law;
  • The Khartoum University Prize for the best academic performance;
  • The Bar Association Prize for the best academic performance;
  • Professor Al. Dharir Prize for the best academic performance in Islamic Sharia Law throughout the years of the study; and
  • Abdallah Al. Hassan Prize for the best academic performance.
This has driven him to be knowledgeable and meticulous in his work. He has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of immigration and asylum law and is results-oriented in his work. His wide-ranging caseload includes entry clearance applications & appeals, asylum and human rights claims & appeals, naturalisation & registration applications, applications for leave to remain including extension, variation or leave outside the immigration rules, applications & appeals under the new Points Based System (PBS), and applications & appeals under the European Law. He has also done extensive preparatory work for judicial review applications challenging numerous UKBA's decisions.

CK worked previously for the Ministry of Justice in the Republic of Sudan. Until August 2011, he was a supervising counsellor at the Immigration Advisory Service (in administration). He supervised a team of caseworkers with various qualifications and experience in addition to his substantial caseload. CK is highly regarded by his peers and superiors. Every client CK had had dealings with spoke highly of him and appreciated his knowledge and professionalism.

CK also delivers training courses in UK immigration and asylum law to practitioners of different levels.

CK is married and has two daughters. In his spare time, CK likes to watch football matches and dance to his Rumba music.

Tony Gomez

Tony Gomez is registered at Level 3 with the OISC. He has considerable experience in asylum and immigration caseworker. He was until recently a senior caseworker at the Immigration Advisory Service. He first began as an immigration advisor at the Bristol Resource Centre (now known as Bristol Law Centre) in 1979. He is also currently a trainer on immigration, asylum and nationality law for the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI). He has extensive experience of preparing and presenting immigration cases before Immigration Judges at Asylum & Immigration Tribunal.

Nazia Bi
BSc (Business Management) (Hons)

Nazia is our Office Manager. She has been an administrator for many years and has worked mostly in the field of immigration/asylum law. Naz began her career at the Refugee Legal Centre (now Refugee and Migrant Justice). Until recently, she co-ordinated administrative support for Bake & Co, a Birmingham firm of solicitors, since its inception in 2007.

Nazia is fluent in Punjabi and Mirpuri.

George Tizirai-Chapwanya
BL (Hons); LLB; LLM

George Tizirai-Chapwanya is a Solicitor at Genesis Law Associates Solicitors. He was admitted and registered as a legal practitioner in Zimbabwe in 1991 and as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2008. George has in the past 6 years worked in the UK for RBM Solicitors, Bake & Co Solicitors and GTC Legal Solicitors. In the process, he has gained extensive legal experience and assisted many clients both in Zimbabwe and the UK. George mainly deals with Immigration, Family and Employment law matters.
